WHAT DOES A BOOK DRIVE HAVE TO DO WITH OUR MINISTRY PHILOSOPHY?
You may have heard that Amanda Rodriquez is collecting books for the children of Green Park South and Southgate communities (see below for details). Amanda teaches in a school where many of these children attend. She has a burden to see these communities know the love of Christ and has taken many steps to see that happen over the last few years. A number from our church have joined in helping her with providing school supplies along with putting on some summer and Christmas events. You should have seen Ron Kim dressed as Santa!
Now what does this have to do with our church’s ministry philosophy? Our desire is that we would partner with one another with the ministry burdens God gives. The church is not here to dictate your ministry area but rather encourage your initiative with the burdens you have. As you do, you ask others to serve alongside you with what you’re doing. Who knows? Your burden might become theirs as well!
So, let’s join with Amanda in seeing Christ revealed to the people in these communities. Let’s also take the initiative with the burdens we have and invite others to join us.
Thanks for setting the pace, Amanda!
