Kerin Adams - Member Spotlight

Hi Kerin, where are you from?

I grew up in Boston, MA and made the journey south for college (Emory University in Atlanta) then came to Birmingham for grad school (UAB-Physical Therapy).  I settled here after grad school and now we have lived here in Helena for almost 9 years.

What do you do?

I am a Physical Therapist and I have the privilege of working 1-2 days a week. This allows me to do an even more important job of being with my kids shuttling them to school and to all of their many activities throughout  the week.

Tell us about your family.

I have been married for 10 years to a wonderful man named Jake and we have two boys. Luke is 7 and Jackson is 5. Having 2 boys is so much fun and keeps us very busy!

What do you truly love?

I love anything that involves my family-they are the best! I also love travelling, especially to the beach. I love anything crafty and creative (scrapbooking, photography, decorating, painting). I love being a baseball Mom and enjoy sports and working out.

When did you discover a love for Jesus in your heart?

I became a Christian when I was 15 years old at a summer camp. It was the first time I understood the difference between “believing in God” and “committing my life to God”.  We had always attended church growing up but it wasn’t until then that I truly understood the impact of what Jesus did for ME on the cross. I turned my life over to Him that day.

Tell us of a time when you've been overwhelmed by God's grace or work in your life.

I am daily overwhelmed by God’s Grace in how He has laid out His plan for me and my family. I fall so short and he still continues to bless me with an amazing family, wonderful friends and now a church in which I feel so at home.

What do you enjoy or value about Christ Community Church?

The thing I most appreciate about CCC is the small, personal atmosphere. People are so intentional about meeting new visitors and making them feel a part of the group. I feel so comfortable walking into the service and seeing so many familiar faces and not feeling lost in a crowd. It really feels like a family. Even my kids are more excited to be at church now because they aren’t intimidated by such a huge crowd and they love their new friends! We feel like we have come “home” by being a part of this church plant.
