2012 Scripture Memory
If 2 Timothy 3:16-17 is true that,
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Then why wouldn’t we tether our boat to this sure and solid anchor? The reasons are many for Bible memorization.
-
God’s Word is a Christian’s treasure and delight!
“Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.”
Psalm 119:35
-
In Christ we’ve been set free from the condemnation of our sin!
“I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.”
Psalm 119:32
-
As we have opportunity we’re able to tell of God’s amazing grace!
“I will speak of your statutes before kings and will not be put to shame, for I delight in your commands because I love them.”
Psalm 119:46-47
As a church family we will be memorizing weekly verses together in 2012 (see PDF). If you’re just getting started this year begin with the Bible passage that corresponds with the date you’re reading this. Our hope is for Christ Community to have God’s truth in us so that it can flow from us in word and deed.
"For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope."
Romans 15:4
